I hope that the government will change it’s mind for the band being taken aout in high school because band is a important part of my life and alot of my friends life. You need to have a beat in your life orelse everything just loooses control just like the earth as soon as the tectonics plates get off beat theres a natural disaster.
WE NEED BAND!

the gov’t is making a huge mistake by trying to change the ciriculum because for a lot of kids the fine arts are their outlets for stress or just a bad day and without them we will have many angry teenagers who dont listen have no manners because the govt cant be bothered with anyones feelings except their own!!!!

I fully support maintaining or improving the Fine Arts Programs in our Alberta Schools (K – 12). Please do not reduce the current 125 hours of instruction.
I have worked in the Public School System for 40 years and appreciate the value and importance of the Fine Arts being included in the total Educational Programs we offer our children in this province.

Although I may be out of school by the time this act takes place, I am very against it. Band is a motivation in school for me, the one class I actually look forward to. If they take fine art classes out of education completely, just think of all the students who won’t even get to experience the joys of the fine arts! I think Alberta’s fine arts are just fine how they are.
